From September 28th to October 1st 2005, the ECCB 05 and the Jbi 05 take place in Madrid Spain. The Bioinformatics National Institute (INB) will host the Conference.

Madrid has been chosen as the venue for the 4th European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB05), and also the 6th Meeting of the Spanish Bioinformatics Network. Over the last 4 years the Conference has been held in different parts of the world, and last August it took place in Glasgow.

From 28 September to 1 October nearly 1000 visitors will come together in the Palacio
de Congresos de Madrid, in the Paseo de la Castellana, where not only will they discover the latest products and meet manufacturers of hardware and software technologies, but will also learn about discoveries and strategies in the bioinformatics sector from experts in this field.

The conference programme for ECCB05 includes the presentation of papers by internationally recognised experts, which will discuss topics such as: "databases, protein structure and function, genes and genomes, microarrays phylogenetics, SNPs, Systems Biology, Algorithms, etc".

The Conference Opening Ceremony will take place in the Auditorium of the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid, in the Castellana, in the afternoon of 28 September. Workshops and tutorials will also be held throughout the 28, while the "Council Student" will take place for university students.

Large multinational companies and local companies are participating in this event, and will show potential customers the latest bioinformatics solutions. This event will provide visitors with the unique opportunity of finding a wide range of solutions in the same place, while discovering new trends and attending different presentations.

The Conference in Madrid, a cosmopolitan, cultural city, will not only be a high-level forum in the area of bioinformatics, but will also offer a host of interesting events to be enjoyed.

Guidelines

All poster abstracts must be submitted via our web site by the abstract deadline:
May 20, 2005 at midnight (You have until 11.59 p.m. in the time zone of your choice). Space for posters is limited, and while we will make ever effort to accommodate all interested groups, we advise you to submit your poster well before the deadline.

You must submit two versions of your poster abstract: a 50-word abstract that will be printed in the conference program, and a one-page abstract (1000 words) to be posted on the conference web site.

Posters may cover material in any area of computational biology. Posters must include original work that is unpublished or less than a year old.

2. RECOMB
